We are very sorry to announce that we have decided to cancel our quilt show that was planned for October 2021. It is with some sadness that we do this but it was proving too difficult to organise with so much still unknown with regard to what restrictions might still be in place by October. However, please watch this space as we are exploring opportunities that might be available to us in the run up to Christmas and give us a chance to have a sales table for all the creations our members are making and an opportunity to still raise funds for the charities we support.
Our normal programme of events, talks, workshops are on hold because of COVID 19, but watch this space and look out for information in our members monthly newsletter. In the meantime, we have been holding our monthly meeting on zoom which gives everyone a chance to catch up and see what everyone has been up to and perhaps join in the monthly challenge. Also now that the weather has started to improve, we are re-starting our monthly meet-ups in Priory Park, bring along a chair and your picnic lunch and we meet within covid guidelines from 1200 on the first Thursday of each month.
Our aim is to promote an interest in, and to preserve the skills of patchwork and quilting by giving members an opportunity to meet together and be inspired and stimulated by talks, demonstrations and workshops.
We meet once a month at the Lavant Memorial Hall and our members skills vary from absolute beginner to expert.
Meetings are held on the first Thursday in the month except for August. Some are held in the morning or for the day, and the remainder are held in the evening to give people who work an opportunity to join us. Some of our speakers give workshops on a Friday.
From time to time we take note of members requests and run extra in house workshops for those who want to learn basic techniques.
We have an extensive library of patchwork and quilting books which is free to all members. We try to update our stock regularly.
